Top 3 trusted principles to become a human telescope

Hilarious right? You could say there is no such thing as human telescopes. Literally, this is true but if you follow this post closely, you will see a light to my perspective. Let’s start with the definition of telescope.

What is a telescope?

An optical instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer, containing an arrangement of lenses, or of curved mirrors and lenses, by which rays of light are collected, focused and the resulting image magnified.

Simply, it’s an instrument used in astronomy for observing distant objects. An example is the Hubble telescope.

The Hubble space telescope is a large telescope in space.  It was launched by NASA (USA) in 1990. It is used to capture events that occur in space.

The Hubble telescope sends 120 gigabyte of data to the Earth each week and is powered by energy from the Sun using solar panels. This means it sends about 500 gigabyte of data monthly. That’s an amazing amount of data for a telescope.

I stumbled upon a post about telescopes today and it opened my mind to understand some realities. With my knowledge of physics, I could establish some lessons from the way a telescope works.

There are some basic Characteristics of the telescope that we can learn from. It’s going to be sort of a comparative study.

1. Develop a vision

The human mind is very amazing. It can create anything.  Just as the telescope is built to view distant objects.Your mind has the ability to create imaginations, dreams and visions that can spur us to innovate and make a difference in this world.

The subject of “having a vision” has become a very common discussion but it can’t be over emphasized. Without vision, you will never have a structured destination.
Can you remember this popular quote?
“You can’t feature in a future you can’t picture”

2. Stay Enlightened

Once there is no light, the telescope can’t work. The ability to see depends on light. Without light we can’t see. No image can be created and therefore the world will be dark. That was the original state of the world in the beginning.

“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” – (Genesis 1:3-4 NIV)

Now every man needs light to function. Physically, mentally and spiritually.

Being enlightened can be likened to being aware or gaining insight into a seemingly hidden subject. How can you be aware if you don’t read or even ask questions?

You can’t operate beyond the knowledge you possess. Ultimately, the knowledge of God’s love towards man-kind through Jesus Christ is something you and I should be aware of.

3. Be focused

The telescope is not useful because it receives light but it focuses its light to create images. Likewise, the creative capacity of the human mind can only be harnessed when we are focused.

I once read that the first rule of focus is this: “wherever you are, be there.”

“No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated and disciplined.”

Whatever it is you have earlier envisioned, read, researched, etc. Focus on them and they will grow.
Whatever you consistently focus on will grow. I believe it’s only immature minds that jump through from one thing to another.

Once you have developed your mind to focus on one thing at a time, you can successfully birth every idea into reality.
Conclusion
The road to greatness can’t be accessed by anyone. It takes people with vision, focus and a teachable spirit. Irrespective of age, class, religion, or even education.

Bonus Fact
Hubble was used to help find out how old our universe is. Data sent from the Hubble telescope suggests that our Universe is 13 to 14 billion years old.
