4 common lies you tell yourself

Our mind functions with respect to what you programmed it to do. It’s necessary to note that Positive thinking is a major key to productivity.  You need to inculcate a positive mental attitude.
Whatever you constantly think about is what you become. If think of yourself as a failure, you are not far from being one.
If you have told yourself some lies (Negative thoughts), you better have a second thought now.
These lies (Negative thoughts) are unique to individuals but I’ll discussing four common lies that we tell ourselves.

positive thinking, clear your mind of doubts

#1. I CANT MAKE IT

It’s true that we might sometimes feel pessimistic about some situations but that’s not enough reason to conclude that you can’t make it.

One of the reasons why you think you can’t make do a thing is because we don’t know we can.
Every individual is uniquely gifted. Some people are more gifted than the others but the most important thing is “how you develop your gift?” “How do you re-invent yourself?”
What have you done to make that gift work for you?

In everyone lies a drop of greatness.  You can do it if only you believe and act on it. If it’s a physical barrier, ask questions, make moves to try, don’t stop moving.
No success comes easy. You only have to try and be focused

If it’s realistic and achievable you can make it. Remember, how realistic your goal is depends on your mind set

#2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE

Someone said “The word impossible only exists in the dictionary of fools”

Most of the greatest world inventions were at first thought to be impossible. At some points inventors like Thomas Edison should have said It was impossible on the third trial to invent the light bulb. Despite all odds, he continued up till the 999 times. That’s determination.

About two decades “Google glass” would have been an impossible invention.
It is true that sometimes you have to quit, but be really sure about such decisions.  If such decision is taken too soon, it can be devastating.

#3. I DON’T NEED TO WASTE MY TIME, IT WON’T WORK

If you don’t try especially if it’s a new idea, how sure are you that it won’t work?
Make attempts, even though you don’t get your desired result, you’ll have enough information to make it work the next time you try.
Life is full of experience. It’s better to learn from other peoples experiences but some personal mistakes are inevitable.
Nothing works until you make it work. Why complain instead of working?

#4. I DON’T NEED TO SET GOALS

I still know a couple of people who still debate with me on “Why goal setting is important?” They would say “I’ve all my plans in my head”. It is not enough to have plans without having it clearly defined and neatly written.
This is what is commonly known as SMART GOALS

S-specific
M-measurable
A-achievable
R-realistic
T-time bound

Your goals keep you focused. It gives you a reason to keep healthy. You goals is more effective if written down.

Over to you.
What are those things you often tell yourself that you think is wrong?

Great article Sir.
We tell ourselves more lies than we would ever tell someone else. Why, because we do not hold our self accountable.

We do not have anyone to disappoint but our self. I am speaking from experience, I tell myself I am going to do something every day, but when I do not. I simply say oh well.

I know this is not the best way to be productive however, I am working on it. It is one character flaw I am not proud of.

Hi Michael, welcome to my blog.

you are right, we can be self deceptive just because we can't query ourselves.
This is really honest of you but the good part is that you are aware of your flaws and i'm sure you are willing to change. :)
