The saying "He who fails to plan, plan to fails" is something every one on earth will come across. Even a crawling child knows about it. The only problem i have is that majority see the word "plan" from the physical aspect only.
Some fail to realize that planning should be physically, mentally and emotionally.
I was Laying in bed in my dormitory after a long day of lectures in school, in the cool of the evening enjoying the sound raindrops outside and suddenly a heard someone passing by asking "Why did I fail?"
I pondered over the question for some minutes like I didn't already have answers to the question.
There are series of things that can make one fail in something. The most common would be "planning". But the truth is some people did plan but yet failed.
In this post I will highlight 11 reasons why one fails.
You fail because:
1. Your Plan is not Efficient.
Someone said "casual people always end up as casualties or in casualty"No matter what it is that you want to do, there must be a level of planning and such planning should be able effective. Your plan should put all possible casualties into consideration.
From my physics classes, if I want to pull or push an object, the force I apply must be greater than the force of the object. The greater the force I apply, the easier it is for me to move the object.
Your plan must be precise enough for you to meet that particular target.
No football team would come on the field to win by chance. It's a matter of choice. There will never be a chance for you to succeed if you live your life to chance.
Don't start until you are fully prepared, for there is no rehearsal on the field of play.
"Poor preparation precedes poor performance."
The best planning is the one first completed in the mind and then transferred into writing. If you are fully determined for success, you'll get it but I realized that planning alone doesn't guarantee success.
2. You are not disciplined.
If you have a plan that you are sure of, the best thing is to stick to the plan. Without discipline your aspirations become elusive. Without discipline, you can't fulfil destiny. Discipline is the bridge between thoughts and accomplishments.Discipline is ability to control objectively and positively the way you live. Every successful person lives a life of discipline. Do the right thing at the right time. Never procrastinate.
3. You don't gather quality information.
Whenever you have a set target or goal, there are questions you need to ask.Has anyone done this before?
YES - Who are they? - How did they go about it? - What was their major challenge? - Did they succeed?
No
- How do I go about this?
- What technical know how do I need?- What are the challenges? e.t.c
If you want to save yourself from unnecessary stress, search for those information that will add value to your work, analyse them, draw out a strategy, implement it and see the result.
4. You are not consistent.
The old saying that "the slow and steady wins the race" maybe not always be applicable in this modern times. I tell you, the fast and consistent will work more wonders. What makes you a success is not an activity. It is the consistent and repeated effort to do what is right. You need to continually progress on your dreams.
If you have all it takes and you don't remain steadfast, it's a waste. You can't be hot today and cold tomorrow and expect to finish well.
5. You can't endure.
Endurance is needed both physically and emotionally. What endurance does to you is to expand your retaining capacity. The more you endure a particular oppositions, the more resistant you become to it.As you know, life is not a bed of roses. Hard times will come. Those circumstances that seem tough are what makes you and brings out the best in you.
6. You are not diligent.
"Do you see a man diligent in his work? he shall stand before kings, he will not stand before obscure men." - proverbs 22:29If you want to reach a set goal and objective, you need to be skilful, in terms of decisions e.t.c. Care must be taken when handling issues. The decisions you make will goo a long way to influence your work.
This is why you need to be thorough, careful and vigilant. You need to be strong willed, even when oppositions and discouragements come your way.
7. You don't want to try something new.
The world has become a "Global village". Every economic sector is turning a new phase every day. Changes are being made and you can't afford to still use archaic, ancient and obsolete techniques in this modern world."Something new" doesn't mean "Something stupid". Wisdom is profitable to direct. I've seen people do bizarre things in the name of being unique.
8. You don't always have a plan B.
Just as you watch in Hollywood's movies, an experienced secret agent always have a plan B that often times is never disclosed to the viewers until the point where the agent's initial plan is failing. You can't just embark on a project without calculating the risk involved. Adequate plans must be made to ensure that no eleventh hour issue will disrupt the entire movement.
9. You can't define success.
10. It is a process to succeed.
11. Your success gets into your head.
The truth is, we should never be afraid to fail. If you are too "failure conscious", you might hit it hard and therefore find it difficult to regain yourself which is worse.
Be success conscious. Be positive. Pray hard, work hard and let God guide you. Success is sure if you know who you are.
