The first role of leadership you occupy in life is self leadership. You are faced with so many daily decisions to make. One of the principles to effective living is to master the power of your choices.
This is why you are a product of your choices. Wherever you are now is a function of the decisions you have made.
There are times where you suddenly hit rock bottom in your life pursuit. It seems like everything looks clumsy and twisted. The road to your destination appears to be covered with fog and you no longer see where you are heading towards.
I found out that asking the right questions can help reduce a lot of tension. A lot of things happen in your subconscious mind when you ask yourself a question.
The right questions get us unstuck. They lead us to deeper levels of passion and fulfillment. They help us shape rich, lasting legacies.- Michael Hyatt
I will share with you three questions that can help you demystify some certain kinds of challenges. These questions will certainly help you have a clearer picture of what you are dealing with.
3 Questions That Can Help You Find Direction
#1. What is my goal?
I believe when you are on a certain path and you get stuck, go back to your drawing board to see what you were trying to achieve.Setting goals that align with your vision in life is a must do. If you have been getting the results you desire suddenly something went wrong, you need to go back to view your goals. It will reinforce the picture of the future you are moving towards.
If you are not getting the results you desire at all, it might be that you goals are not properly set. Do you remember that goals are meant to be smart?
This question can help you even determine if you have a goal. Some persons don't really have a goal so it appears their effort is in vain. Yes, It's in vain because there's no focus.
So, whenever you get stuck, ask yourself "What is my goal?"
If you can't really say them or write them with clarity, It's an indication as to why you are fuzzy in results.
#2. Why did I choose to do this?
Other versions of this question are "Why am I doing this?" or "For what purpose did I begin this?"Whenever you ask yourself "why", it examines your intention.
Having the wrong intention which is not based on correct principles that find their roots in the Bible, can be a major stumbling block to that which you intend to achieve.
This question can also measure the depth of your conviction. It can help you determine if you really want to achieve that goal in life. If you do not have a strong reason for doing what you decided in your mind, the necessary drive you need would not be provided.
#3. What are the things I need to do to take me from the present location to my desired destination?
You can not start making plans about the steps for execution without answering the first two questions. If you have clearly stated goals with the right intentions (based on correct principles), it would be easier to think about the next steps to take.
They say the journey of a thousand mile begins with a step. Seek to answer this question. What little actions/move do I need to make that will move me a step closer towards my goal?
It may be a phone call, restitution, a meeting, etc.
List out as many answers you can get and pick out the important ones. In my case, I prayerfully decide the line of actions to take.
Conclusion
Never underestimate the power of asking questions. No matter the situation you find yourself, you are just one question away from where you want to. Develop the habit of asking the right question.
