Do these 5 things to stop being poor.

passing over opportunities repeatedly.
“Being poor means Passing Over Opportunity Repeatedly” – Anonymous

The difference between the rich and the poor can be traced back to how they have treated the opportunities that came their way.

Genuinely rich people are rich today because they did not allow any opportunity pass them by. Unlike the poor, who keeps procrastinating and hardly seizes any opportunity that comes his way.

If you desire success and you have aspirations in life you must be able to recognize opportunities that come your way. Opportunities come like flashes; in the twinkle of an eye if not noticed fades away (tweet this).

Sometimes, you would say “How I wish I had the opportunity to … (fill the gap)” but little did you know that you have to unlock your inner senses to perceive the opportunities hanging in the air at the gas station, at the mall, on campus, even in your small neighborhood.

You seem to have so many bills piled up on your table waiting to be settled. You are behind on everything!

Some Christians solely rely on their prayers to produce opportunities. I don’t think that’s God’s will.

“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” – James 2:17
(I’ll encourage you to study the whole of James 2)

I’ve come to discover that opportunities come in small packages. It will never reveal itself on a platter of gold. One way to lock your “opportunity discerning” senses is to have a wrong attitude towards life (tweet this).

“Entrepreneurs smell opportunities five hundred kilometers away” – Richard Branson
This is an amazing sense of discernment. Someone called it the ‘Seventh Sense’. It doesn’t have anything to do with religion.

How to unlock your ‘seventh sense’ to opportunities

1. Have a grateful heart.

“When you are grateful, you cans see what you have- you can unlock blessings to flow in your life”- Suze Orman

If you do not have a grateful heart, you will go about with negative energy that will attract to you a random negative experience from the Universe. This can make your mind clouded
to see the endless opportunities around you.

Have a greatful heart

  • Show gratitude to your family- You owe it to them
  •  Appreciate your Job- for you know you will get a better one
  • Appreciate your environment- It helps you command the good benefits there to yourself
  •  Appreciate your friends- Even though they won't be there always
  • Appreciate yourself- It will help boost your morale
Joel Osteen said “Choosing to be positive and having a grateful heart is going to determine how you are going to live your life.

2. Work Hard, Work Smart

Nothing works like hard work. Bishop Oyedepo confirms that things work for workers.
Life’s great fountain of opportunity opens up on the road of daily duties. Therefore, laziness in one’s daily duty is a repellant of chances.

No wonder the hardworking men enjoy the sea of unlimited opportunities. You need to focus on your work and stoop jumping around. Hard work is what will bring you to the notice of those who hold the key to your next opportunity (tweet this).
Work hard, work smart

Myth about Hard work

There is a conventional idea that putting tension on your physical muscles is hard work. It goes beyond that. It is placing pressure on your brain because there is much treasure in your mind.
Engage your mind by thinking and meditating over issues in order to find answers. This is indeed work; it is many times harder than carrying bricks up hill.

This might be the reason why very little people engage in things. You do not know what to think about? Think about

  • Easier way to do your work and still achieve the same or more results.

3. Build a healthy relationship

Connect with people that are moving in the same direction as you. We can learn from Dr. Mike Murdock story.

There was a young lawyer who could not get any case. In fact, he was practically starving. An old successful, wealthy attorney heard about him and requested that the young man should come visit him.
The young lawyer was quite excited and anticipated being given some of the old attorney’s case. But the old lawyer simply discussed various topics.
Build a healthy relationship

Then he walked the young man to the door, placed his arm around his shoulder and they both walked back up the busy street to the man’s shabby little office.

After he left, the young man was very disappointed. Neither finances nor cases have been offered by the old lawyer. He was not even offered any advice!

However, within a couple of weeks, he had more business than he could handle.
Then it dawned on him that the walk he had with that proven attorney had gained him enough respect, making people to confidently approach him with their cases.

Whether with men of higher status or with the ‘up and coming’, build worthwhile relationships.

4. Have a goal

Have a goalIf you have no goal, opportunity will mean nothing to you. In fact, opportunity will be non-existent in your world
I’ve written about “setting goals” a couple of time on this blog.

You can read 6 important reasons why you should set goals.

5. Have a positive Mindset

As the common saying goes "It's all in the mind"

It’s in 3 phases

When your thought life is flooded with a strong desire for something, opportunities tend to open up in respect of such things.
If you desire it strongly enough, think about it we enough, it will come to you someday.
Have a positive mindset

Equip yourself with books, tapes, and other materials that can maintain around you a favorable atmosphere, in which godly desires and healthy thoughts could easily become provoked and sustained.
Having people around you that think and see possibilities is a great investment.

Your thought pattern is as important to your life as your very breath. When you meet an obstacle on your way, see it as an opportunity to get promoted to another level in life.

Conclusion
Opportunities are everywhere. When it comes your way, seize it. You must know that one opportunity begets another. Every opportunity has a time limit. The kind of opportunity that comes your way is solely determined by God’s overall purpose for your life.
