How well do you control your Hulk mode?

Do you remember Bruce Banner; the Incredible Hulk guy? He was exposed to a kind of radiation that altered his gene.
He became a mutant. Being exposed to gamma radiation, he got a ‘duo gene’. So the dominance of each side of the gene depends on his emotion.

Control your anger

He turns into the “Hulk” when he is angry. In this mode, Smashing everything that comes his way is not a problem at all.

I know you know all these but I just have to fill the white space :).

Incredible Hulk is one of my favourite science fiction movies. Looking beyond the ‘science fiction’ aspect, I think Bruce’s role in the movie is applicable to reality.

Every normal person has these two natures. One could be more dominant than the other.

You know the cool, calm, collected, dove- like attitude and the "Smash everything in the way attitude" or rather Hulk mode.

Anger is very much natural. Anyone has the tendency to get angry. It only becomes abnormal if you have no control over your anger (clicktotweet).

A Quick Question

Which is your primary nature? The Hulk or the dove; reply via the comment form.

As much as you might want to say you have the right to get angry, your emotions should be under your control.

I can remember back then when I was quite younger, I was so hot tempered. I once threw a cutlass at someone for teasing me.
The one I can’t forget was when I threw a locker at a junior student in the dormitory during my High School days.

I can remember my various kicking of people's head and so on. It was so bad. I was not different from an animal; I mean the lower animals :P.

There is only one conclusion. Anger (Hulk Mode), if not well contained, DESTROYS.

control your anger

Moments, Relationships, Furniture, Gadgets, Body parts, etc. can be destroyed because of anger.

The good news  is that you can control you Hulk mode. You are designed to be in control.
It’s even possible your switching to hulk mode is rare. God gave you control over everything.

What does uncontrolled anger (Hulk mode) do to

  1. Anger burns you out.

You know how weak Bruce becomes when he switches off from Hulk mode. After using the adrenaline in you to display all your ‘drama’, you know what happens next.

  2. Anger scares people away from you

I experienced this a little in high school.

    3. It makes you a weakling

What else do you call someone that can't control his/her emotions? I stand to be corrected.

   4. It makes you think of hurting others.

My Sunday school teacher told me this story.

There were two friends in college. Let me name them Steve and Ray (since I don’t know their names). They were room-mates.

One day, they had a disagreement and it broke out into a fight. Ray punched Steve in the face and it became a scar after treatment. Steve was so angry that he nurtured it for two weeks.

On a Saturday, Ray was playing chess with another friend outside while Steve was in the room thinking of a way to get back at Ray till he came up with an evil idea.

Not too long, Steve was seen coming out of the room with a hot pot of water and he poured it on ray’s body.

I leave the rest of the story to your imagination.

Anger is very deadly. Never make a decision when angry. You might regret it.

I’ll leave you with these quotes about Anger

Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had been before - it takes something from him.
-Louis L'Amour

When you are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself and study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.
-Epictetus

Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame.
-Benjamin Franklin

People won't have time for you if you are always angry or complaining.
-Stephen Hawking
It's your turn

This is a honest post. As for me, I can't really say which is the primary but I'll work on myself.
Thanks for reminding me of how dangerous Anger is. :)

Hey bro,

This is a very detailed post and one that has an element of truth wrap round about it. I love the Melvin puts it when he said it is an honest post. Indeed it is. Thumbs up!

I have always believed that when a person speak or reacted while he yet is indignant he will most definitely regret his actions later. Being angry as God is concerned is even a sin.

Thanks for sharing this all important post with us today, thanks man.

This post is simply LOVELY.
Anger kills.
I was one who got angry easily and let it rid and rule me, and from experience I say it sucks. It kills you more than the person you are angry with.
I hope everyone learns to control their anger as I have learnt (and still learning) to control mine.
PS: we can't do it on our own. Only the Holyspirit can instil self control in us.
Gud one bro.

Hi Peace

It's a honour to see you here. It appears we have something in common.
We keep learning everyday and most importantly from the Holy spirit.

Hey Sam

God frowns at it because He knows the outcome is never favourable. Thanks for your comment.

hello there Ologundudu. i'm glad you have solved the issue in your link. with regards to anger, i usually control my anger many times successfully. but we cannot prevent some instances wherein our patience reaches its limit. i remember when i once in high school when i was being bullied by my male classmates. at first i just ignored them.

but their insistent bullying tested my patience. one day my emotions just erupted and i demonstrated to them that i can fight for my right to be respected as a young lady.. since then, no one ever try to bully me again... perhaps they have witnessed a brave dragon inside me...

Hi cada

Thanks for the concern. I battled all night to solve the problem.
Bullying can really push one to the extreme. I'm glad you had the courage to stand for yourself.

Many people do ask me whether I ever get angry? For I am mostly beaming with laughter. I do get angry but will always make sure I will let you that I am angry.
I hate to swallow bitterness! Anger destroys !
